|Run Free Ministries is the work to which God has called Graham and Sherry Bretherick for this period of their lives. Run Free Ministries is designed to help set people free, enabling Christians to function in wholeness in every area of their lives. One of the aims of Run Free Ministries is to continually return to the Scriptures for God’s answers to the problems of life. As people pursue righteousness in the path of God’s commands, their hearts will be set free to fully live out a mature and dynamic Christianity.
Jesus said in John 7:37-39 “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”The goal of this ministry is to see the Body of Christ living out of the overflow of these “streams of living water”, learning to find Jesus in every sphere of their lives. It is God’s intention that every Christian be healed and fully functioning in the grace that has been given them for the building of God’s Kingdom.
Run Free Ministries has been set up as a result of the call of God on Graham and Sherry to counsel, advise, restore and equip the church “to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up...” Ephesians 4:12
Run Free Ministries is an international Christian ministry dedicated to producing freedom and growth in God's people by providing Biblical-based training, teaching and counselling.
Training, teaching and counselling that liberates and equips!
There are four main areas in which God has called and equipped Graham and Sherry to minister in:
Graham has been a counselling psychologist for over 25 years and is presently designating his counselling time for leaders in the church, particularly pastors who are needing time to heal, re-evaluate and refocus their lives and ministries. Recently, Sherry has been participating more frequently with Graham in his counselling ministry.
As a result of over 30 years of pastoral ministry, Graham has been helping churches work through staff and ministry issues that have created tension in the church and inhibited the ongoing vision and goals of the church. Graham and Sherry are called to assist churches in untangling the relationship and ministry challenges that they are facing.
The church needs to return to ministering to the whole man. Since the body is the container for the soul and the soul is the container for the spirit, it is important that the body and the soul, along with the spirit, are all healthy. Graham has a call to minister to the soul in particular. The most neglected area of the soul in the church is the realm of the emotions. Graham has developed a number of workshops designed to teach and train the church to have healthy emotions and thus healthy souls. He is available to teach these workshops as he is led by the Holy Spirit.
One of Graham’s passions is to see Christian counsellors trained up to operate in the church with Biblical counselling methods. To this end, he has developed a thirteen module course that involves teaching Biblical counselling principles augmented by practical labs where student’s skills are developed. It is Graham’s desire that the church be equipped with Christian counsellors who can help Christians work through issues in their lives that are keeping them from maturing spiritually and emotionally. This course has been taught both locally and internationally.
